WHO AM I?

My name's Joel. I've been a fitness coach for the last 13 years. After spending over 12,000 hours training people and helping others build gyms, I admitted that most personal training programs and group challenges simply are not setting people up for long-term success.

You spend money and your precious time on fitness stuff. Maybe you get what you want, maybe not. And yet I keep finding myself chatting with people who still don't feel like they know what to do... even after having a trainer.

My goal is to fix that.

People say I have a gift for helping them see their bigger picture. In a kind of New Age way, they find insights and motivations from the old stories and poetic language I use.

Before my life in fitness, I was fascinated with cultures and why humans find things meaningful.

While completing an anthropological fieldwork assignment, I experienced a very difficult personal transformation, pondering questions about the nature of reality and relationships between things... including myself and what I wanted out of life.

During that time I found an ancient philosophy I knew would help people immediately if they could just see it in action.

So I started using fitness to apply this philosophy. I got strong and shredded like many people want, but wasn't really happier for it (and then lost it all too). And after observing this process in myself (repeatedly) and in my clients, I began understanding something more powerful.

My goal is to make you fitness autonomous—to put you in charge of your own programming.

Teaching you how to do this by yourself cuts through the fitness marketing BS and puts you in the driver seat.
