My name's Joel. I've been a fitness coach for the last 13 years. After spending over 12,000 hours training people and helping others build gyms, I admitted that most personal training programs and group challenges simply are not setting people up for long-term success.

Before my life in fitness, I was fascinated by cultures and how humans make meaning. During an anthropological fieldwork project, I faced a difficult apprehension in my personal life that put me in the crosshairs asking deeper questions about the nature of reality and relationships between things.
During this time I had also come across an ancient philosophy that offered clarity and purpose, and I knew it could transform people's lives if applied practically. I started using fitness as the vehicle to apply it.
I got the results so many chase—strong and athletic-looking—but the surface-level goals weren't enough. After observing this cycle in myself and others, I realized the philosophy was about things more profound than the physical results.
My goal is to make you fitness autonomous—to put you in charge of your own programming so this never trips you up again.
